Starting a small business

How I remember the feelings surrounding this topic. Memories from childhood seem particularly sweet on reflection and I remember my old Dad starting a small business. He picked a small house just on the edge of the town centre, the last place you would imagine anybody opening a small carpet shop. But he did it and enjoyed many years of success until his sad demise in 2002.

Of course starting a small business has changed out of all recognition since then, it has got harder in a world with little tolerance and much greater competition. If you want a guide to help you organise your thoughts on starting a small business then you could do no worse than read Danny Wilsons new site http://www.startingasmallbusiness.org.uk

I can only say that it is great David Cameron is axing quango's because that would have been the only advice available to young entrepreneurs save their parents and rubbishy books availble on station and airport book stands. Danny has been there, and runs a successful small business of his own. His wit and observation are becoming legendary to those who've read him so far, and I doubt this will waiver.

Get on over to his site and pick up some very valuble crumbs of wisdom. Starting a small business may be more difficult these days, but it's not impossible if you do things right.
